Success stories are not written for every business strategy used at the start. Some begin with only faith, guts, and the willingness to do it all over again tomorrow. The story of Priyanka Agrawal, Co-founder and COO of AppSquadz, is one example where a simple dream slowly transformed into a global tech success.
Priyanka’s journey did not begin in a large office or with solid financial backing. Instead, it started in a small rented apartment where she and her co-founder, Chandrakant Agrawal (CK), made a leap of faith. They worked from their living room, spending countless hours coding, talking to clients, and solving problems.
Those early days were not easy. She had to do everything, from technical work to dealing with clients, by herself. Sometimes clients would delay payments, or projects went awry for one reason or another. Each challenge felt like a weight on her shoulders, but she had only one thought in mind – moving forward.
“I’m not stopping here,” she would tell herself during tough moments.
What helped her continue was the strong trust she shared with her co-founder and the belief that their efforts would eventually pay off. That belief started paying off as the company slowly began to gain clients and companies started talking about it.
AppSquadz has never been just a company for Priyanka. It is a journey she has lived every day. Even the tiniest things, like a ‘Thank You’ from a client or the first AppSquadz cricket team winning a trophy, are enough to remind her of when and how it all began. That emotion is still felt every day, even though the company has grown.
Priyanka reached another milestone when she determined that targeting only gaming apps was insufficient. A major turning point came when she realised that focusing only on gaming apps was not enough.
This decision led to a shift in the strategic direction of the company. AppSquadz delivered its application in a short time, and the client lauded their work. For Priyanka, this was a proud moment, not only because of the business growth but also because it proved that the company had gained trust in the market.
As COO, Priyanka now leads operations and manages teams, but the element of people-focused leadership remains intact. She has a strong conviction that people are the most essential component of an organisation. In doing so, she does not lose focus on business targets and deadlines.
She has introduced training and upskilling programs within the company so that employees can grow along with the organisation. She also believes in listening to the team and celebrating even small achievements, which help build a positive work culture.
In addition to her role in the company, Priyanka is actively working towards women empowerment. She regularly speaks to students in colleges and shares her real-world experiences to encourage young women. She also offers free IT training for women to empower them.
For her, however, the most satisfying moments are not when a business deal is concluded, but when someone she helped manages to get their first job or starts something on their own. These moments, she states, are what make the journey worth it.
Her approach to innovation is down-to-earth. She also stresses the importance of monitoring the needs of the market. Rather than sticking to one innovation, she continues to learn and adapt. Her mindset has helped AppSquadz go beyond gaming to become a full-service digital solutions provider.
Today, the company has expanded, serving more than 1,200 clients across 30+ countries, with a workforce of over 350 employees. Priyanka works with the goal of creating something big instead of focusing only on numbers.
She takes inspiration from leaders like Sudha Murty and Nita Ambani, who are known not just for their success but also for their values and contributions to society.
